Okay, you should know that I am a very, very amateur painter. I really love doing it, it is a great creative outlet, but I have very little training(one class in college). But it makes me happy and I do think I am getting a little better so I keep doing it! I also have a tendency to find an artist that I love and copy their work. I usually combine different things I like from several paintings into one. I have decided this is okay, as I am not selling things as my originals or trying to pass them off as their originals( trust me no one is going to fall for that anyway). This is just my way of trying to teach myself different things. Not to mention it means I have a lot of pieces that are colorful, that I like in my house that cost me virtually nothing! So with that disclaimer these are a couple of my things.

I love to do that too and then change the colors in the painting to match my house. Have you seen the Mona Lisa Smile movie when all the girls paint their different flowers. I love how the paintings look all together!

Your painting is really beautiful. Sometimes when I'm wondering if I should even bother with making something, I think of Maud Lewis whose primitive paintings were so colourful and bring so much joy in spite of their simplicity.

Check out the movie and make sure you click in the doorway of the house. That will take you inside where you can see all the surfaces that Maud painted.
