Neat to me!!!
Okay, this is one of those things that is probably a bigger deal to me than anyone else but I don't have a lot to post today so here you are. Knotted linen cord necklaces! This is a big deal to me because before I discovered this idea (that most people who make jewelry probably already knew about), I was making my long necklaces like the one on the right. I really liked them but my Joshua was too tempted and too strong and kept destroying them. Imagine, beads everywhere, me no longer with a necklace and a lot of lost time and beads. BUT! With this new method it is stronger and even if he does give it a good yank and it comes apart the beads stay on the string and save me mess, time and beads. I am so excited I can wear at least a little jewelry again! (I know, it is amazing the little things that make me happy isn't it?)

They look fun. How did you do it?
I guess I am not a jeweler because I did not know about them.

Ooooooooo. Where do I get this linen cord. Perfect for activity days, less bead to buy. :)
I know too well the destruction of beautiful jewellery! little hands are stronger than they appear! I'm glad you have found a way to wear some pretties that Joshua can't destroy. My little boy is named Joshua too :)
Hey Tiff they have it Walmart and hobby lobby, probably ben franklin too, about 20 yards for 2 bucks! And I just make a square knot on either side of the bead, sometimes it has to be a knot over the top of a knot if the bead hole is too big.
what a great idea. my neice LOVES necklaces. what a treat for her!
