Literary Help

We need some help from my book-loving friends, and I know I have a lot of them. Brittany is on a biography/autobiography kick and we need suggestions. Anyone have a favorite? She is okay with adult fare-assuming the subject didn't lead too risque a life. Any suggestions would be appreciated, she has read these two lately which I have read and liked but now my well of suggestions has run dry. Help!

Da Chen has a YA adaptation of his book, Colors of the Mountain. I think it's called China's son. I loved him. Loved him.

At around your daughter's age, I read Walt Disney's biography. Also, Margaret Mitchell's biography is good as well--Road to Tara. But Margaret Mitchell lived a weird life, so it might be good for you to read first. Also, Susan Beth Pfeffer did some books that look into the individual lives of the characters in the book, Little Woman. I haven't read them specifically but I have heard they are good--Jo's Story, Beth's Story, etc.

My favorites are the Josephine Trilogy by Sandra Gulland and everything by Phillipa Gregory. Love historical fiction, it's like biographies but better!

I'm new to your blog, was just wandering around, and don't know how old your daughter is. "The Education of Little Tree" is a pretty amazing book. I'm 29 and had just heard of it, but REALLY wish I had read it when I was in middle school.
